Ibizan hound grooming

ibizan hound grooming: Groom your pet properly to keep it healthy There are large varieties of hounds available across the world. They are domesticated for hunting or guarding the house of their owner. Some people also keep hounds as their pet just for having a company. The Ibizan hound is one such breed of hound that has found popularity with most dog lovers.

Maintenance and grooming of Ibizan hounds are very necessary. The type of grooming is different for the three different varieties of the Ibizan hounds: smooth haired, wirehaired and longhaired. To keep the coat of the smooth haired variety in excellent condition, it is advisable to rub its skin with a rubber glove. The wirehaired variety needs brushing from time to time to keep the hair in an excellent condition. Brushing the skin of the Ibizan hound regularly helps the dog to keep its natural glow. The longhaired variety needs much more brushing to be done than the other varieties of the breed.

Again, the owners need to clean the passages of the ears of their hounds from time to time. It is also equally important to take care of the claws of the Ibizan hound. The claws can either be kept short or can even be trimmed completely, if desired. The owners can clip the claws of their hounds on their own or can take the help of the vet.

It is very important to bathe and shampoo the dogs regularly. The dogs have a unique smell of their own and when you do not find the smell, it is an indication that the dog needs another bath. Like all other breed of dogs, ticks too affect the Ibizan hound. Henceforth, owners need to take good care of their pets to prevent them from getting them.

Ibizan hounds should be regularly taken to the local vet, who would be of much help in suggesting ways to properly groom the dogs.
